PIA National appoints Michael Skiados as CEO

PIA National announced that it has named Michael Skiados, MBA, CAE, as CEO. He will join the organization on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024.

Skiados has more than 20 years of experience running membership, education, marketing and operations for a variety of large associations. Most recently, he served as managing director of membership strategy and engagement with The American Institute of Architects.

In prior roles, his contributions have resulted in significant growth in membership and engagement, and new ways to unite association chapters. He held key positions with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and ASAE, The Center for Association Leadership.

At PIA, Skiados will focus on identifying ways to better serve members and affiliates, including creating new products and services, and education, leveraging PIA’s Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation. He also will work closely with the PIA Partnership, the organization’s carrier council, and its Technology Council.

Kelly K. Norris, CAE, is the executive director PIA Northeast, and its affiliated organizations. An experienced association executive with nearly 30 years’ experience working with associations and 20+ in executive management, Kelly was the executive director of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers Inc., and the New York State Consumer Finance Association, prior to joining PIA. Since 1991, she has been a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Empire State Society of Association Executives. Kelly is a graduate of LeMoyne College where she studied business administration with a concentration in political science; and received the Certified Association Executive designation from ASAE in 2005.
