HARTFORD, Conn.—Karen Orton, CPIA, was honored with the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut’s Young Insurance Professionals Lifetime Achievement honor. Orton is senior underwriter for A.I.M. Mutual Insurance Cos., Burlington, Mass.
This honor was given to Orton in recognition of her commitment to the high standards of professionalism, networking and service to the insurance industry as a whole.
“Karen’s tireless commitment to the industry as a whole is second to none,” said Justin Sloan, president of CTYIP. “It’s nice to be able to show recognition and appreciation for all she’s done.”
Orton has been with A.I.M. Mutual since 2018, working closely with brokers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She works exclusively with brokers to market the company’s workers’ compensation coverage and services. Orton underwrites new and renewal business, manages existing accounts, and meets regularly with brokers to ensure that policyholders get the claim and injury prevention services they need. She is part of an underwriting team that consistently meets new business growth objectives.
Active in the insurance industry for more than 40 years, Orton has previously served in several capacities for CTYIP including director, ex-officio member and Tri-State Alliance member. She received the CTYIP of the Year award in 1996. Orton also has been active in PIACT previously serving as a member of the Education/Conference Committee, chairperson of the Convention Committee and the Communications Committee vice-chairperson.
