ALBANY, N.Y.—Gary Slavin, CLTC, CIC, LUTCF, of Massapequa N.Y., was elected president of the Professional Insurance Agents of New York Wednesday at the association’s annual business meeting. Slavin is a financial services representative and investment advisor representative for MassMutual in East Hills, N.Y.

Active in PIANY, Slavin served on the board of directors as president-elect in 2022-23; vice president in 2022-23; treasurer in 2020-21 and secretary in 2019-20. He also served as chairperson of the Government Affairs Committee and as a member of the Executive/ Budget & Finance Committee. Slavin also served on the Long Island Advisory Council.

Slavin received PIANY’s Committee Chair of the Year award at this year’s annual business meeting. The award honors the PIANY volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIANY’s committees. This is the second time Slavin has been honored for his committee work.

In his community, Slavin served as co-president of the Massapequa Community Council and was on the board of directors for the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce. He also is a former president of the East End Disability Foundation.

The association also elected a full slate of officers during the annual business meeting. Following are the new officers who will lead PIANY in 2023-24:

• President: Gary Slavin, CLTC, CIC, LUTCF, of Massapequa, N.Y. Slavin is financial services representative and investment advisor representative for MassMutual in East Hills, N.Y.
• President-elect: Richard Andrews, LUTCF, of Freeville, N.Y. Andrews is owner/principal of Andrews Agency Inc., in Ithaca N.Y.
• First Vice President: Jason Bartow, AAI, CPIA, of Dix Hills, N.Y. Bartow is executive vice president of Eugene A. Bartow Insurance Agency in Deer Park, N.Y.
• Vice president: Michael Loguercio Jr., of Ridge, N.Y. Loguercio is a producer for the Atlantic Agency in Riverhead, N.Y.
• Treasurer: Raymond Gillis Sr., FIC, FICF, of Cobleskill, N.Y. Gillis is president of Fire Mark Insurance in Cobleskill.
• Secretary: Jorge Hernandez of Merrick, N.Y. Hernandez is owner of North Franklin Brokerage Inc., in Hempstead, N.Y.
