PIA New York elects new officers; Bartow president

ALBANY, N.Y.—Jason Bartow, AAI, CPIA, TRA, of Dix Hills, N.Y., was elected president of the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State at its annual business meeting on Sept. 10, 2025. Bartow is commercial lines executive vice president of Eugene A. Bartow Insurance Agency Inc., and Jebb Brokerage Inc.

Active in PIANY, Bartow served as president-elect in 2024-25; first vice president in 2023-24; vice president in 2022-23 and treasurer in 2021-22. He has served on virtually every committee for the association. Currently, he is co-chairperson of the PIA Northeast Regional Carrier Program; chairperson of the Agency Operations, Carrier Relations and Industry Affairs Committee and treasurer of the Agency Advocacy Coalition. Bartow also is a member of PIANY’s Executive/Budget & Finance and Government Affairs Committees and a member of the Long Island Advisory Committee. He also is an active past president of the New York Young Insurance Professionals.

In 2018, Bartow received the New York Young Insurance Professionals Distinguished Service award. This award is given to recognize an individual who exemplifies a commitment to the high standards of professionalism and service NY-YIP strives to attain. In 2013, he received the New York Young Insurance Professionals Volunteer of the Year award. This award is given by NY-YIP to individuals who are committed to improving the quality of events and programs of the organization by giving of their personal time so others will benefit.

Newly elected officers

The association also elected a full slate of officers during the annual business meeting. Following are the new officers who will lead PIANY in 2025-26:

  • President-elect: Michael Loguercio Jr., of Ridge, N.Y. Loguercio is a producer for BELFOR Property Restoration in Middle Island, N.Y.
  • First Vice President: Jorge Hernandez of Merrick, N.Y. Hernandez is owner of North Franklin Brokerage Inc., in Hempstead, N.Y.
  • Vice President: Eric Cohen of Fairlawn, N.J. Cohen is CEO/managing director of Benefit Quest Inc./Eric Cohen Insurance in New York City.
  • Treasurer: Ed Chadwick of Buffalo, N.Y. Chadwick works for Jencap Specialty Insurance Services in Buffalo.
  • Secretary: Justin Fries, CIC, CPCU, CPIA, of Roslyn, N.Y. Fries is owner of Garber, Atlas, Fries & Associates in Oceanside, N.Y.
  • Immediate Past President: Richard Andrews, LUTCF, of Freeville, N.Y. Andrews is owner/principal of Andrews Agency Inc., in Ithaca, N.Y.
