E&O assistance: PIANJ hosts session on personal-lines and small commercial-lines

March 8, 2024

Earlier this week, PIANJ hosted another Deep Dive session: Selling/Servicing Personal Lines and Small Commercial Policies. Those who missed the session can view a recording of the program, which can be shared with colleagues.

The discussion

Moderated by PIANJ’s Director of Government & Industry Affairs Bradford J. Lachut, Esq., the discussion included insights from the following panelists:

  • Connie Mahoney, PIANJ president and agency manager for Mark Anthony Associates;
  • Darren K.G. Shaw, Esq., E&O attorney for Utica National; and
  • Walter Conroy, PIANJ Communications Committee chairperson, NJYIP secretary, and vice president of commercial lines for Liberty Insurance Associates Inc.

The session offered viewers tips on how to protect themselves from E&O exposures when handling personal-lines and small commercial-lines policies. Having the right procedures in place is paramount—especially in the current insurance market in which people are contacting agents out of the blue just to see what their agency can do for them regarding their insurance policies.
